Cinders by TC Electronic

We expected that TC Electronic would roll out a TS-style pedal for their overdrive in their new pedal series. Cinders is not the pedal we expected.

to everyone in the comments: if you hate this, you hate the Blues Driver circuit. don't blame the quality of this superb tc electronic line!

What a useful demo (unlike the tc electronic one)!!

I found a good setting on my tele. Set pedal to full drive and the tone at 10 o'clock. By rolling back the volume on the guitar it warms up. You can then adjust the guitar volume to go from light overdrive to a really great fuzz. Hope this helps someone!

Just picked one up for 25.00 at my local music store. Can't complain!

Upgrading to this BD voiced clone from a TS clone. I'm stacking it after TC's Tube Pilot (Smorgasbord line is amazing for $) for my Strat board... running into Digitech's Ventura Vibe and Polara.

The tone knob is like a presence knob or treble boost. I've found it's better almost all the way back

seems like a useful sound, but I like the grand magus with lower gain settings better.

I really loved this series of demos. Are there any ODs like this that you've tried that would behave more with a tele guitar?

Perfect modding platform. I heard this circuit is a play on the Boss Blues Driver, from the demo and sound I don't doubt it. Sounds amazing for the price!!

Great demo!! This Cinders OD and the Rusty Fuzz were the first ones I was looking at out of the 13 new TC pedals (Maybe the reverb, too). Henning Pauly reviewed the 13 for his channel, and was not too impressed with the Cinders. But I actually like some of the sounds he was getting, even as he complained about them.

YouTube demos can be tricky because the sound compresses and clips a lot when you showed the lower gain settings. But it's clear that it's a bright-voiced overdrive with a massive gain sweep (and a mostly workable tone knob to roll it off).

You noted in the video that you didn't know what to compare it to. I'm hearing a little bit of the Klon family, but maybe not THAT transparent. A little concerned about the brightness, but maybe it's just a treble knob where you think of it as "adding treble" rather than setting it at noon and forgetting.

Confused...if these are Behringer remakes, what the heck Behringer pedal was this? Most of the Behringer plastic boxes were Chinese remakes of BOSS pedals.

This thing really is the perfect clone of a blues driver but not from a cheap Chinese company but a trusted name like TC. Cheers.

I'd love to see a comparison between this and the J Rockett Blue Note overdrive pedal.
