Through a series of drops, a carton drop test simulates the shipping environment during which packaged goods may be subject to damage. The testing results reveal how rough handling might damage packaging materials and forecast any potential damage to your product that might occur.

PACKAGING DROP TEST STANDARDS
Many international entities have developed their own packaging drop test standards, which vary slightly in procedure and applicability. The two most common packaging drop test standards include:

International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) ISTA’s A1 procedure: This standard is applicable for packaged-products weighing 150 lb (68 kg) or less
American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) ASTM D5276 – 98 (2017): This standard is applicable for containers weighing 110 lb (50 kg) or less

and also according to recommendations of Amazon on individual packed Monitors and TVs testing for parcel delivery.

The heavier the box, the greater the height. So we shall measure the carton weight first, TV and all the accessories are inside of course, and determine the appropriate drop test standard height.
We have 2 popular models in our test today:
The first is our compact Cabinet Door Kitchen TV, model AVS240WS. Box weight is 10 kilo and a half (23 pounds) the drop test height is 61 cm (24 inches) accordingly. The second model is AVS240SM, waterproof TV for bathroom with 23.8” screen. Carton weight is about 18 kg (40 pounds) and the drop test height is 46 cm (18 inches) for the second TV.
Right after the drops we will open both cartons to check the TVs for any mechanical damage and turn it on to make sure they are fine functionally.
