Marvel and Disney's latest is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the last theatrical film of the MCU's Phase 4. In this video, I talk about Shuri, Namor, Killmonger and many more. Is it better than most of Phase 4? Definitely. Is it the great film many fans were hoping for? Maybe not so much...

What did you think of Wakanda Forever?

I know that this whole movie had real grief to deal with, but I was also expecting some mention of what happened to Wakanda during the snap. Technically, this is the second time T'challa passed in the MCU and that detail doesn't get touched on.

“We didn’t get the brutal and vengeful Namor from the comics.”

Dude literally threatens Wakanda from jump, drowns their queen, destroys a good portion of their capital, and has plans to dominate the surface world. Just because he sounds calm when he’s doing it doesn’t mean that brutality isn’t there.

I do agree that Riri was the most unnecessary part of the film. They could have had the same conflict between the two nations without the need for the secret “scientist”. That being said I think they could have justified her presence more if she was part of Wakanda’s Outreach program, that way she would have inherently been apart of T’Challa’s legacy and a living argument against the isolationism that Namor was trying to bring back to Wakanda.

I liked the movie but parts of it were definitely lacking. I did, however, really love Namor. There was just this unhinged rage I could see in his eyes that made me love him.

I loved this movie. Mostly because of how they handled grief and loss. I lost my best friend the weekend before this came out, who I would always go watch MCU movies together opening weekend.

It sounds silly but it helped bring me a little bit of closure.

It’s not a perfect film but it will forever hold a special place in my heart.

“I miss the more brutal Namor” they killed a guard and Namor responds with killing the QUEEN and kills a lot of civilians with a team of 7 or 8 and bring wakanda to its Knees .
They test out a machine to find vabranium and he murders a full team of seals and cia officers.
I get why people want comic versions but this arguably better than the macho mustache twirling baddie that we get every other movie .

I would've preferred if they had expanded on the global politics aspect of the film and treated Talocan as an actual state or political entity instead of yet another secret group we never knew was there (a la Eternals, Inhumans, wizards, mutants, Wakanda, etc., etc. etc....)

You know, while people are certainly justified in not liking Ironheart’s inclusion in the movie, I’d actually argue it works based off of the idea that Riri is one of the people that Killmonger was fighting for in the first movie, so to have Wakanda now take her life as seriously as one of their own goes to show a progression of at least that theme in the movies. Could the movie have leaned a little more into that? For sure, but at least for me it makes her inclusion feel less tacked on.

You can honestly feel the parts of the movie where Chadwick was suppose to be, so the rewrites feel genuine... I definitely loved the idea of further expanding on Riri Williams life mattering much more after the tone of the first.. Namor’s views + age really made for a captivating character. Him being older and jaded is a better direction to take him but I do wish Talokan got introduced to the world or how big the nation is got discussed more.

I was actually scared of Namor and Telkoton, it felt like he was truly invincible and no one had an answer for him. I also thought he was much more compelling than Killmonger

Really interesting to hear that you had a mixed opinion on Namor since you’re familiar with the comics persona. However as someone who’s only ever heard of Namor through YouTube videos I really liked this take. I think Tenoch brought a lot of personality to the character apart from “angry fish man”. The calmness actually makes him a more menacing character and justifies the “god” ideals the people of Talokan hold him in. Plus since this isn’t the end of Namor in the MCU I’m sure we’ll see a more focused take on his ideals in a different movie maybe a solo series.

Totally agree about Ironheart being included and the CIA agents literally didn't affect the story at all. But I don't know Namor from the comics but I loved this guy. I think he was the star of the movie. I really hope he returns in a big way at some point.

I thought Leita Wright stepped up big time I definitely enjoyed movie but couldn’t help but think about Chadwick missing in a lot of the lead parts of the movie specifically Ramonda and Shuri parts it just feels every scene where they were the center of the scene was written for Chadwick but nonetheless everyone stepped up big and Namor was well written

This first movie was really good but this one felt very different in a positive way. Unlike many opinions, I don't find this movie too long, i love the pacing and enjoy it a lot I don't mind sit in the cinema for additional 30 or so minutes.

I like the way they deliver a superheroes story, the characters felt like a real human, like they actually have feeling about things happening around them.

I honestly really liked it. Yes, I can definitely see people’s problems, and some of them I share. But it’s highs, for me at least, overshadow it’s lows

I'm hoping phase five brings in better editors. I understand the Avengers movies running over 2 and a half hours, but it doesn't mean all their movies need to be huge, epic-length movies when the story doesn't really call for it.

I thought the invasion of Wakanda at the end of act 2 was fantastic and it made the actual climax feel weaker by comparison. I really felt the length of this one.

For whatever faults, it's still one of the better installments of phase 4 since NWH.

i thought that Namor (or, KuKulKan) was one of my favorite parts!
Although the movie didn't change the game for superhero movies, i think i got what i wanted out of iit, and Angela Basset went HARD!!!!
