I know the Animatrix gave us backstory as to the war between humanity and the machines and why the matrix had to be made. But I'd like to see something that expands on this aspect of it. More about programs like the architect and the Oracle and their attempt to develop the Matrix. Further more the thing to consider when you look at them is that they are the product of generations of development, the AI who felt oppressed by man and only sought acknowledgement as sentient living beings, the machines one could find sympathy for are long gone. What has since replaced them imo has lost that which gave their ancestors virtue and righteousness in their cause. In a sense, the machines' pursuit of victory and survival cost them their soul (for lack of a better word), and now they've become the very thing they sought freedom from, a race that must mass produce, enslave, and suppress the free will of another in order to thrive and does so without remorse or empathy.

People underestimate the importance of this scene just because it is "boring" compared to the "bullet time" scenes. But this is a pivoting moment in The Matrix. I am a huge fan of the architect.

I've watched the Matrix trilogy several times in my life, but I again most recently did another marathon of them back-to-back-to-back, and at 35 years old I think I've finally understood the films way better than I ever did. I had to get myself to view the Matrix programs as allegories and metaphors, per se, to finally "get it", and I've been able to enjoy it so much more.

Seraph had wings, so he was an angel. There were vampires, devils, angels, phantoms (twins) in one of the matrixes. That matrix (out of 7 matrixes) was probably the most insane one. They should make a movie about that Matrix, with Merovingian and Smith, since they were still alive back then.
