Love that you can tell Jessica deeply cares and loves Paul, and then he lashes out at her because he's overwhelmed. He's partially right to assign blame to her.

Woah, now hearing in Dune Part 2: Paul saying "That's not HOPE!" to his mom hits harder now

The way he crumples after this and just says, ”my father is dead.”
He’s really just a kid dealing with all of this

_“Somebody help me please”_

It’s so bone chilling. No one can spare him his role in the future. He is the messiah and holy war, like unquenchable fire, shall spread his name.

when he said "my father is dead" is just so gut wrenching. he's finally waking up to the reality that he lost his father and he's aware everything is now going to be on his shoulders. he's only now getting time to grieve

I honestly don't get people who say the first movie is slow. Tik tok has ruined people's brains

He doesn't say this in the book, the narration is the one that says it. I think having Paul himself say it like a madman as the book says, it's probably one of my favorite changes made to the book. "A WAR IN MY MAME" is delivered expertly

Watching this scene after seeing Part 2 hits so different now! Like wow. Takes a whole different meaning.

2:52 His only sense of calm during this horrific vision is when Chani says his name. He loved her before they even met

I absolutely love this scene, especially Timotheé's voice modulation, the cinematography, the music which changes when Paul sees himself up there with Chani. So good

This plays different for me after Part 2, not just because of Paul, but Jessica. Both "the mother" and "the son" effectively die after they take the Water of Life.

An astonishing scene from Dune: Part One. The visual complexity, vast scope, combined with intimate performances, shows in a few minutes Denis Villeneuve’s absolute genius.

Can you imagine the type of dread this would feel like? The inevitability of your own future. A future stained in blood, death and suffering.

Timothee's vocal delivery here is quite something. It MAKES the entire scene

"I am Paul Muad'Dib Atreides,
Duke of Arrakis.
The hand of God be my witness I am the voice from the outer world.
I will lead you to Paradise!"

Watching this scene after seeing Part Two, I finally understand. The vision of Chani leading him to his destiny had two meanings to it. Paul couldn't see the whole vision, because his sight wasn't fully developed yet. Chani served the purpose of helping Paul become the Kwizats Haderach, but it was Alia who was manipulating and leading him there this whole time. Leading him to become the Lisan Al Gaib.

This isn't just a vision folks..this is the actual future.

This is my favourite scene from the first film.

It's so bizarre how the second movie elevated the first. Please, watch the first one again after the part 2.

Perfect foreshadowing, the fight scene here with paul happens almost exactly in Dune 2 but it's chani fighting.
