Just wanted to express a few gripes that I have about my 3rd Gen Mazda 6. I love Maxine, but everything surrounding her is not perfect.

Thanks for taking the time to make these 3rd Gen Mazda videos! things that irritate me too... terrible front door sound when closing; hollow and cheap sounding! Speaker system is pretty delicate; I've used Darius videos for repairing one of the flappers, added some Hushmat to the inside of the door and it sounds better when closing now. Agreed, that I love this car though! The style is very nice, a classic. I would also choose another Mazda 6, except like D said, '18 or newer with the turbo!

One thing I thought you were gonna mention was the one thing i hared about my 6. The only thing i really disliked. The road noise. There seemed to be a lot of road noise when driving. I had a 2015 Touring. I heard they added better sound proiding in later years due to complaints. I just sold my 6. It was an amazing car. 197k miles. Only issue i ever head was wear items. Starter at 165k and cv jounts at the end. No mechanical problems ever. Great car!

Couldn’t agree with you more on the paint and aftermarket support!

The reason I purchased the touring package was for the stick. Wish I didn't need to choose, but I will choose manuals over auto all day.

I found your channel through Reddit. I like what you’ve done with your car even though it’s not my cup of tea.

You’re spot on with all of these points. Really wish the 6 had better representation in the US market.

Own a 2018 Mazda6....
Negatives
1) how slow Bluetooth connection is
2) car is on... now key fob doesn't function to open trunk or for door locks
3) have to be fairly close to the car for the key fob to function

A few observations mate. I do understand where you're coming from, but some of these are a bit... How shall I say... Superficial complaints?

5: Theyve actually responding to market preferences, where nowadays most cars come with an automatic transmission. I understand the frustration, but it's not necessarily something that I would agree to be hateful about. If you're sufficiently experienced and/or motivated, i'm positive you can convert it.

4: This is a well-known issue frankly. I would expect you to wrap it right away after buying it if you really wanna keep it pristine. The paint cannot be thickened due to its distinctive features (that candy-apple sparkle it has, those microflakes that give it its specific color) so it does come short. My 2014 has a few rockchips as well, but nowhere near what you're saying. Though I don't really drive it that much (60k miles so far). Again, it being a well-known issue, and to be honest, I'd expect anyone who sees this colour to immediately wrap the front bumper and hood.

3: That's more of a hit and miss, I've seen models with 250k miles on where the speakers were just fine, and some with less that 30k miles where they failed. I agree with this one. They just bought bragging rights from Bose and that was it. It's very disappointing to have such a low quality speaker system in cars so new.
2: Meh, this is a non-issue. I would say non-heated seats in the rear for lower trim would be more important (the cost price is not that high for heating elements in the seats). Also ventilated front seats for everything but the lowest trim should be mandatory.

1: I mean... You can't hate the fact that companies don't want to design and manufacture stuff for a car that is not that popular, that's just childish. It's not a famous car, as opposed to lets say Ford Fusion(similar bracket in matters of price/trim) -- where they sold 300k units in 2014 ALONE. Since 2014 (and here we have to account for the facelift, which has been pushed twice), Mazda 6 has sold a tad over 100k units for the original, 110k for the first facelift, and not even 60k for the second facelift (no data for 2022 im afraid). In Europe you're looking at half that number. It just doesn't justify it for most aftermarket manufacturers to trouble themselves with anything else aside from consumables and maybe a different headlight design (and even that is scarce as heck).

I do respect your take on the matter, but i think you're a bit nitpicky here.

All the best.

You definitely forgot about them shitty axles. But yea, my ‘17 touring doesn’t have rear usb ports either.
