Once, I was out with a friend, and we walked past the cafe in question (it's in my city) and I was like, "haha, that's the place that has the man-tax... Let's not go in there."

Hah! My uncle owns a bakery & shop. Someone buys something, he takes their money. Simple. He doesn't stop & ask about their politics or affiliations.

The problem doesn't arise when their message gets political, it comes when they alienate the majority of their costumers to appeal to like 10% of people.

I don't buy products because of political stances, but because of the quality of the product. The moment, you piss me off with political messaging, is the moment you lose me as a customer.

I notice that Gillette is starting a new series of ads trying to undo the damage. The one I saw has a firefighter. Too late Gillette, we will not forget!

I can say that Proctor and Gamble haven’t been getting any of my money since that ad. If they think I’m so toxic then they can just consider my money toxic as well.

I will never buy Gillette again and that is because of those Ads

In all my years as a commercial property manager, dealing directly with small business owners and their staff, the majority of failed businesses can indeed be put down to poor customer service (as well as lack of a decent business plan, or limited, if not completely absent understanding of their target market).
Knowing this, and seeing what I have in newspaper reports, the location of the premises, etc, I feel confident in saying it's highly likely this cafe shot themselves in the foot with their man hating policies and staff.

I literally switched to Schick after the ad aired. I had used Gillette for nearly 40 years.

An ad by a razor company, that caters mostly to men, depicting masculinity as toxic, is not a good business move.

I want companies to provide quality products at reasonable value prices, not go political and try to tell me how to think or live.

Any company that goes the political route won't be getting my money.
