Z-Depth experiments with Gaussian Splatting

In Postshot program it is now possible to render z-depth channel of Gaussian Splatting models. I made few test with it on After Effects. The grayscale depth image looks in my opinion very cool itself. It offers now the way to play with depth of field camera effect on Gaussian models.

Wow! It’s fun experimenting with all the new 3DGS software. I really like the tilt-shift effect towards the end of the video. Thanks again Olli!

OMIGOD this is a game changer in terms of Z-Depth. The redered bokeh can now be achieved, as I contacted the developers of postshot to add this feature when rendering in their own application. You've done this bokeh effect from frame 51-54 in Aftereffects? Can you make a tutorial on this please :)

Cool, try invert the colours of the depth map and then run it through stable diffusion and see what you get?

Olli,
Great video can’t wait to try this with the post chat. Have you seen that the Scaniverse app on iPhone Now supports real time Gaussian splat capture an on device processing?
Could you check this out for us…

Rendered the distance between the camera and splat's position?
