India is not the only country that experience colonization from the British/European as general. US, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Saudi, etc also once are former European colony. But their economy are better than India.

In fact, back in 80s Indian economy was slightly better than China. So why China can growing so fast but India can't?

It's about mentality, Indians mentality is similar to African people. Lazy, always blame other for their own idiocy. Here in Singapore, the most dirtier part of Singapore is the place that inhabitated by the Indians/Pakistan/Bangla.

Indians always think that their country is the greatest in the world, but in reality we see India as a joke.

I have worked with many Indians and all I can say is that not all are smart.

It's hilarious how India, being rich in natural resources, the greatest agricultural land in the world, and a great industrial capability can not even muster a GDP bigger than the UK's GDP (which is a tiny island)

No Industrial devlopment for almost 45 years because of socialism and license raj and lack of infrastructure, doing business is very difficult, uneducated people are main problems in our country.

For me it is the population the main factor combined with corruption.

Here are my thoughts:
1. more education
2. less sex
3. population control

With 1.4 billion people I'm sure India has so much natural talent. But for whatever reason no other country has SO MANY of it's citizens voluntarily leaving their country permanently for a better life abroad. Indians are a large minority in so many countries abroad so perhaps addressing why so many Indians are utterly desperate to leave India would be a good start.

What about migration where rich and educated people move to places as Us, Uk and Australia for settlement abandoning their home land

India can prosper if it deploys decentralized finance (like Safemoon), decentralized energy (wind and solar), decentralized transportation (autonomous taxis), decentralized communications (Internet) decentralized education (like Kahn Academy), decentralized employment (make large corporations actually pay taxes and incentivize small entrepreneurships and cooperatives. Highly concentrating the economy causes wealth disparities and the marginalizing of large portions of a population. Incentivizing money and power to move laterally through an economy raises overall productivity and standards of living. A rising economic tide raises all boats ... large and small.

I am from Philippines and reasons 1 to 6 is also common. I am really sad the although Philippines and India are both beautiful countries, poverty and social issues are the reasons why our peoples are leaving the country.

India is ruled by 10-20 top business families and few select politicians. This cabal controls every aspect of life in India and gets richer every second.

India has a low manufacturing industry participation compared to China or ASEAN nations. Indians want to be like the EU or US service based economy bypassing the manufacturing part which made USA the global leader.

Infrastructure in India is so bad, certain regions in Africa feels like a developed nation.

Just copy China urban and infrastructure implementation in India for gods sake. They are now a middle income nation and will overtake US in few years.

India always had the filthy rich Maharajas or Nizams over shadowing poor, malnourished, beggar masses. iN 2022, Adani - Ambani are the new Maharajas.

Every Indian with wealth I know has a second passport or Residency and second home in Dubai/EU/Asia or US.

Just learn from China - whatever you are doing is not working.

0:50 I like to correct you here, the population growth isn't 80 million per year. I don't know from where you got your Statics, if it was the case then it would have already crossed 2 Billion mark.

This video was spot on. Although the urban areas are developing quite rapidly (take this with a grain of salt though) the rural areas feel like a lost cause. Unless we decide to do something about our ever increasing population, all of the hope is practically lost. Religion and heavy importance on caste and customs are a BIG setback. Big in all caps. Education can only only do so much. We need our leaders to stop pushing their religious ideologies and actually do something towards the development of India and her people. It breaks my heart to see a country with so much potential fail to realise all of it.

Wait a second. Saudi Arabia has most of the things you mentioned and yet is still VERY successful and wealthy. Parts of it were held by the British/various European powers and exploited. Saudi Arabia also has MASSIVE gender inequalities and corruption scandals funding different groups. It is a successful capitalist system regardless, (so long as success means that the wealth of the average citizen is above the norm)

As such I believe your points about inequality and British exploitation are almost non-issues... they should at least be nearly at the bottom of your list.

Personally, I believe it has to do with the caste system and the population size more than anything else.
