You just know that some crazy folk are gonna try and get a group together to play this when its finished.

This is sounding like the music to some mysterious hidden level of a Super Mario game, that if you played it and beat it you would achieve ultimate knowledge or your head would explode (or both for that matter).
Can't wait to hear what comes next.

I listened to this (in Suzhou, China), quite hungover, having gotten up 15 minutes previously, while eating ridiculously spicy fried potato and tofu I had bought before going to sleep four hours ago.

'Intense' cannot describe what I just went through, but I think I may have enjoyed it. If nothing else, it was a thing, and it was a BIG THING. Now I need a hug or something. Damn.

I suggest adding some bends to the piano parts to add to the impossible factor: it would be very difficult to pitch-bend real pianos

I'm pretty sure I've heard Frank Zappa's bands play stuff like this - but then, impossible music was kind of his forté :D

The "awkward" bit at 9:25 actually has a cool groove to it.

You should take the MIDI info here, transfer it to a DAW, and play through nice VSTi s or nice synth program like Reason

My favorite thing about this video was all the things that were shown and talked about in the video.

I actually really love the section that you dub the most awkward one you ever wrote! The strange pauses are a nice respite from an otherwise frenetic piece, and I find their oddness almost visual -- putting into mind a character and a setting in a way that most music doesn't for me. So: kudos!

I'm wondering if you're going to subject this piece to much of an editing process, as you've done with previous Ben Writes Musics, or if this is more a brainstorming/creativity exercise and you'll just call it finished when you get to the end. I'm happy either way, but I'd also be reallly curious to see how you would transform all these ideas into something more cohesive.

In any case, a pleasure to see your mind at work! Hope you have a fab day :)

I appreciate that impromptu performance. Looked like a guy debating whether he should turn on that alien spaceship he found on his backyard or not.

Good job on your Mario Paint cover of that Dillinger Escape Plan song Ben!

It's so funny to me how this piece goes back and forth between sounding like dark prog rock like Thinking Plague and super cheery Nintendo music like Mario Maker or something.

Watching Ben Levin’s mood dance to this makes me think that maybe humans could interpret this and that makes me happy

Hi Ben,

Sometimes I don't click on a new video of yours, but every time I do, I grin!

Thanks man!

PS - On an unrelated note, I recently ordered a 20 string harp! Can't wait!
