The railroad nail can be nice to use in a barn as a hanger. Coat on the bottom and hat on the top one.

I keep watching these and I'm gunna have to go buy a forge and try this out as an addition to welding things up around the house. . Never caught a beard on fire but made the mistake of spraying my arms and hands with mosquito repellant before making a few quick tacks with the mig, (no gloves, no long sleeves, just the helmet). Smelled skin burning and my left hand was just a bit on fire from the wetness of the repellant. Nothing serious but lesson learned. Nice video

war horse forge and black horse forge in Virginia give free classes for this and other basic blacksmith classes to veterans and 1st responders it was the charity Ben Abbot from forged in fire donated to when he won beat the judges and its where I have been learning and taking classes to do exactly this and love it
