Made myself a (shitty but works) knife out of rebar last year. All I had was a campfire with charcoal a normal claw hammer, and a flat rock to serve as an anvil.
Took me about 3 hours but it was a fun first project, now I'm getting myself an actual forge and anvil and hammer. Can't wait to make more stuff!

Fun Fact about Kunai:
Despite how they are portrayed in media, kunai weren't really designed to be throwing weapons. They were actually more like a spade; a gardening tool used to dig.

In practicality, they were more often used to bore holes into walls and dig holes. They could be used as other tools, such as climbing tools or used to break locks. They could also be used as weapons and could be thrown, but they weren't fantastic options, especially against armed guards with better weaponry.

Did that harden at all when you quenched it. It's my understanding that there isn't enough carbon in rebar. Just curious as a hobbyist knife maker myself.
