Appears to be a solid unit that wasn't overly abused. I'll be watching for your update(s) to see how you set it up for your operation. Thumbs up!

Definitely air bags for the down pressure instead of springs. Check the bushings in your parallel arms. I think your on the right track putting the twisters on. We are probably going to convert ours over to those. We have run the Martin spiked closing wheels for years but haven’t been happy with the performance the past couple of years. If doing no till I would look in to a set of row cleaners. You will like having the option of liquid fertilizer. From my experience fertilizer in or next to the row has always made a big difference in our corn yields.

Definitely use air bags from precision. Both down and up pressure. Can be bought used everywhere because of hydraulic down pressure systems. I gave 3000 for a 16 row with air compressor. I was amazed how much lift was used when seed boxes were full. Then floating row cleaners with air sweep. Then yetter twister closing wheels with bolt on bearings. If needed I would replace gauge wheel arms with Shoup gwk3500 arm and bearing. 4 times the bearing and easy to change or clean mud out of. Also easier to adjust tire clearance with disc.

Congrats on the new planter! Looks like its been well kept. In my opinion dont overthink the vaccum, for the eset meters they say to run about 19 psi on corn. The original guage i beleive goes to 15 but shoup has one that goes higher if you don't want to guess. If your parallel arms are worn one guy told me just do the top arms and that will take care of most of your side to side play. I figure chains are cheap and can cause alot of skipping issues you dont see. I had bad luck with the rotary scrapers and went to the carbide scrapers. Facebook marketplace is full of good take off parts from peoples "precision rebuilds" ive had good luck finding like new cheap parts or yield technology services in Missouri has tons of good used affordable parts (got my down pressure springs and cabledrives from them)

Use air bags not springs. Buy air pump in tractor cab for cars from ebay. eSet plates are much better than JD. The XP with heavy disc and bearings is better for NT. May not matter on small acreage. Shoup is better price.
