Impressive how much work you do between your many endeavors. Good luck with the new planter!

I started with a 7000 and rebuilt it. Some of the things I did just to make sure I was getting the depth and spacing: bushings on the parallel arms, updated to Shoup guage wheels which adjust in and out. Check the seed tube guard, if that's worn down, the V will be marginal. I went to a full xapta treatment on my rows. Keaton seed firmers so I get into moisture, no drag chains. Everyone's soil is different, I'm in hard clay. I also had problems with the closing wheels, they didn't trail, so I've updated that to an adjustable version from Yetter. Seed tubes and possible new finger pickup meters if you're worried about spacing. My main worry in no-till is getting the seed into the ground at even depth so I get even emergence. Good luck

I put cooper head spikes for row closer both sides it closed up the rows good even when the ground was wet, it broke up the wetter ground and covered the seed. One side on the spikes will give you hammer root, look that up, otherwise no till is the way to go.

Neighbors got a 6 row. It really hammers the seed down. Yea those planters aint cheap. What about your cyclo 400?
