In October 2019, the Carolina Hurricanes player Andrei Svechnikov scored his famous Lacrosse Style Hockey Goal against the Calgary Flames. The goal style is known as the 'Michigan', however, the method used to complete the lacrosse style goal was different as he scooped the hockey puck onto his stick while skating behind the net. Additionally, this method of scoring has now been completed a few times by the NHL 23 cover player Trevor Zegras. While on the Anaheim Ducks, he was able to scoop the puck on his stick while powering behind the net and score this lacrosse style goal.
