Use lids on all webcams. They are cheap and effective.

When I had a windows laptop, I used to uninstall the webcam driver and everytime I had to join a meetting, I reinstalled it. 😂

Yes. I have always had tape over my webcam, from the moment they stopped building laptops that had a slide to cover the camera.

Uninstall the driver for the webcam and use an external camera when needed.

"Webcams" are okay, but finger scanners and any ccd optics are compromisable.
Even extraction (finger prints)from photos from screen shots or when they use a clear glass to drink from. Having 4k or even now 8k resolution imaging is something people don't realize MORE data can be collected working it as a magnifying extractor.
It's like sonic imaging from a home theater. When watching a movie you ghost static noises with movie cancelling and get an image of the room, crude but interesting none the less.
