I really wanna move to New Zealand. Fell in love with the country and the people. Perfect place to raise kids. Wanganui might be my favourite choice.

First thing you need to know... You gonna travel through a mindblowing landscape and will be stunned by how nice the Kiwis are! If it wasn't 30 hours flight from my country, I'd visit every weekend!!

I'm from Middle East and I find racism almost everywhere in the world but never experienced racism in NZ during my 5 years of studying. Nice country friendly people and stunning scenery

Just keep in mind that the weather can be quite annoying at times, as it is most likely that you'll experience all 4 season's in 1 day. So choosing suitable attire can sometimes be difficult.

I'm posting this as a New Zealander myself.

For all of you who have mentioned things about us being racist towards Asians:
I have lived here my whole life and have never encountered anyone who doesn't like Asians living here.

And for those who say it's full of robbers and thugs:
Sure, there are some shifty places in NZ, but there are shifty places everywhere!

And finally, the accent:
The Kiwi accent varies in different parts of New Zealand. I'm from Wellington, and I sound quite different to that. And as you get further south, the r's get more pronounced and people start sounding slightly Scottish.

I'm from Scotland and this sounds identical to Scotland. Welcoming, friendly people, drive on the left, four seasons in a day and beautiful scenery. We are so lucky to live in such beautiful countries.

Don't forget to wave when you pass anyone waiting for you to get across a single lane bridge even if you had right of way, it's just what we do :)

And watch out for
1. Kiwis always under estimate time of journey especially for tourists. If they say 5 hours. Plan on 8 hours so you can see the sites on the way.
2. Kiwis are shocking on the open road. Pretty polite in towns and cities but can feel aggressive on the open road. They tail gate, so best just to pull over frequently or slow right down to allow a person to get passed.
3. All Kiwis think it's tourists that cause all the accidents when only 3% of accidents in NZ are caused by a tourist

P.S I am a Kiwi

I travelled in South Island for 12 days in 2006. What a beautiful country New Zealand is! Absolutely breathtaking and amazing. 13 days was definitely not enough time to enjoy the beauty of New Zealand but I had a fantastic time and made enjoyable memories in there. I would definitely go back to the places I have been.

Of course Christchurch wouldn't be the same as it was in 2006 but it was a such wonderful cith with lots of kind people. I still remember this good chap called Kevin who helped me out when I was struggling with direction.

And lake Tekapo is just can't even describe its beauty in words.

Bungee jump, speed boat, horse riding etc in Queenstown - stayed in there for three nights and it was too short.

I am thinking to revisit this heaven in 2016 again with my other half this time.

I live in Scotland and mostly things are quite similar but nothing can be prettier than New Zealand in my opinion.

Highly & strongly recommend!!!!
