Jimmy Page's Stairway to Hell

Jimmy Page, founder-guitarist, mastermind and musical inspiration of the 70’s super-band Led Zeppelin, recently appeared at an Oxford University Union forum. (Oxford is one of the world’s most respected educational institutions.) Page is no academic. He’s simply one of the most accomplished guitarists of all time. I watched his entire speech plus Q & A. It was a trip down rock memory lane, and I guess there was some value in his discourse as a rock legend. His song “Stairway to Heaven” is the most popular, most played rock song of all time. But it was Page’s remarks about the Golden Dawn cult that caught my attention.

I have to disagree on a couple of points.
1. Alister Crowley never founded the Golden Dawn but he was a member but they threw him out because of his behaviour.


2. Ozzy Osborne song Mr Crowley wasn’t one that was speaking in favour of him.

Ever notice when rock stars are asked questions about things satanic they either downplay everything or they answer as if they're joking. I remember Mick Jagger on SNL, a Wayne's World sketch. Wayne asks about his involvement in Satanism and he answered laughing, but he answered. A person who wasn't involved would not joke about such matters.

You know even though I am saved, I have known for quite sometime about Led Zeppelin and their involvement in the occult. Hence why so many members experienced so many tragedies except for Page himself.

I used to love listen Led Zeppelin when I was 13 y.o. and till 29, it was very nice band to me. Very very important they seemed to me. But when I did find Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, understood things other way. Would that Jimmy and friends could repent . Just Jesus can save.

Oxford University has a music school. Jimmy Page is one of the most iconic artists in the history of music…I’m sure as guest he could inspire these young people.

His religious beliefs have nothing to do with anything. Period.

However, he’s not a satanist. He was interested in the occult as a young man, but he’s not a satanic figure.
