I made a 1960's Style Headboard!

Hello Darlings! I LOVE our finished headboard and I had so much fun making it!! Mad Men has always been a favourite of mine and the Draper Household has so much decor inspiration! So of course, I had to make my very own 1950s/60s vintage style bedhead!

I love that you call it ‘bed head’! In the US, we refer to how messy our hair looks in the morning after sleeping as our ‘bed head’ but I see your video title has the term ‘head board’ which is the same here. You are so brave to make your own. Wonderful job! Thank you for sharing.

I have a headboard that had a faux leather inset. Sadly, the previous owner taped the price on it when they were selling it at their yardsale and the tape pulled off visable holes in the faux leather finish when it was removed. I tried using leather dye, but that didn't really work. So, I took the inset out (which was a chore and a half) and recovered it with a blanket. Once the inset was put back into the frame, it now looks like a really soft fabric inset.
