1-2 Tbsp cooking oil
4 cloves minced garlic
1 onion, chopped
1-2 star anise
6 pcs peppercorns
1 cinnamon stick
1 Tbsp fish sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 Tbsp oyster sauce, optional
1 Tbsp chopped ginger
1-2 Tbsp brown sugar
2 cups water
1 tsp beef bouillion powder or beef cubes
ground black pepper
