Michelle, good stuff from a good actor. Have you done actual TRAINING for your part with the British Army; squad maneuvers, live fire weapons, etc ? Wonder what the dynamic would be for interaction between your character and Molly ? Follow-up series idea for you. Georgie musters out and takes a job as a police chief / DCI waaaay out of "civilized" areas where Georgie has to deal with "ordinary" criminals and IRA operatives out to terminate her. To begin, GEORGIE could be a DS to DCI Jimmy Perez, Welch DCI Tom Mathias, or DCI Vera Stanhope. Mathias lives in a remote area and the series is DARK; good place for GEORGIE to "hide". A few episodes in one of these, then DCI GEORGIE LANE still the humanitarian but to a bleak wasteland struggling with criminals, terrorists and her own past. She is even more uncomfortable with only hand-to-hand combat skills, a sharp mind, but no body armor or firearms ( that her superiors know of ... ... ).

If you want to "get it right" start rolling your sleeves up properly and learn how to salute!. You look, sound and behave like a civilian!. No idea who the military advisers were/are but the BBC need to find themselves someone who actually knows what they're doing!.
