As someone who had this done to him by multiple teachers, I view this as a form of abuse. I’ve always had trouble sleeping. Chalk it up to the ADD and insomnia. It felt like some teachers relished being able to do this to me and other students. When in reality, a sympathetic teacher would have been much more effective at trying to solve the underlying issue.
