Ask your congregation and the children, ‘Can you explain to me what I just preached?’ If they can’t, we need to change something. You will know them by their fruit. You’ll know your style of ministry by its fruit.

I was a Sunday school teacher with high learning and I made sure that the 36 children I had understood the teachings of the Bible by breaking it down to what they were capable of understanding. Furthermore, I created memory games, horizontal/diagonal puzzles, multiple choice word games sentences, etc. so that they wouldn’t get bored while taking them outside to play games. Now these children who are all grown up, went their ways and still remember until this day what they were taught. The honor and glory always goes to Jesus Christ.🕊

This is so true, Bible is a biography of God, if we say we love God, then we need to know who He is, His character, His ways etc, the more we know Him the more we love Him and get closer to Him and want to please Him, live for Him, and this goes for children as well no matter what age. We have to guide them. God bless.

Faith in the Lord is learned at home by the behaviour and actions of the parents. And most of all by them experiencing the presence of God.

You only retain about 5% of what you hear during a sermon because most the time it’s lecture format. That’s why it’s so important to get into the Word yourself.

No wonder why so many kids abandon the faith at university when they stop going to Sunday school. They can be talked out of ot because they were never talked into it in tne first place. Shane on ourselves.

Can children explain the doctrine of justification by faith after going to children’s church? Of course not!

Yes, calvinists seem to use words that children and teens and many adults cannot understand.

Yeah… theology matters… but right theology don’t guarantees good fruits per se… Sometimes honest hearts, even if stained by false conceptions, are a step foward of theese with correct doctrines…

Yeah, maybe the early Christian’s knew something with liturgical styles of worship. They wanted children in worship.
Congregational involvement, shorter homily, holy Eucharist.
My toddlers do just fine in worship and enjoy it

Paul Washer is pretty much the best teacher alongside John Mac Arthur and Robert Breaker we have for this age.

If we think “fruit” is understanding doctrines and not the divine nature being formed in us, we have become Pharisees.

Maybe sermons aren't the best approach to teaching children. We're so locked in to this notion that we must hear a sermon. There are better ways, especially for children.
