We have spent time in all 3 countries. We decided on Panama where we now live in a fantastic waterfront condo on the Pacific Ocean. This has been the best decision of our life and have loved it for more than 10 years.

I lived for 9 years in Villavicencio, Colombia, 3 hours drive south from Bogotá. Love the country. I used to do backpacking every year for approximate a month, visiting many small towns and enjoyed every minute of it. That helped in knowing the country from El Eje Cafetero to Santander, and from the Caribbean coast to Los Llanos. I've been living in Connecticut since the pandemic, hopefully going back to Colombia in two years once I retire.

Have lived in Panama for almost 4 years. I arrived here in Jan of 2020 already speaking Spanish. Very helpful if you speak some. Visited Boquete initially nut the expats there don't mix with the locals and have driven up the prices of everything. I live in a very small mountain town and it is wonderful. Very small expat community but I mostly hang out with locals. I believe that with the current US gov, many more people will leave to better countries. Best decision I ever made.

I went to Chile for the first time in January for work. I absolutely loved it. I felt very safe and because live in California, the weather (Mediterranean climate) was very familiar.

I was mildly surprised that Chile (as well as Costa Rica) was not on the list.

Panama sounds exciting. Looks like a little more energy than Uruguay. And given the current changes happening regarding the canal and everything. Panama is now on the radar. Thanks for the content.

I like the fact that the airfare is 1/2 the price with shorter flights to the US if you live in Panama.

Uruguay is by far the best country in Latin America to live in, with a high quality of life, four distinct seasons, economic stability, an excellent healthcare system, and Montevideo has been declared the Latin American capital with the highest quality of life. Without a doubt, a hidden gem that few know about. Great video!!

as an expat living in Latin America now for over 4 years
I will tell you this
YOU BETTER BE FLUENT IN SPANISH if you plan to live in any of these places
BUT
there is one hidden gem where English is the official language
property ownership is FEE SIMPLE TITLE just like North America the weather is fabulous and the cost of living is comparable to everywhere mentioned in this video
not to mention the US dollar is accepted here and is always pegged at 2-1

it is also only a 2 and a half hour flight back to the United States with many growing expat communities
WHERE IS THIS PLACE

none other than the diverse beautiful country known as the Gem
