This is why I don't give to charities. If people found out how little of their money actually went to the cause they donated for, they wouldn't donate to them.

Edit: also, if Ame does find one that is completely genuine? I'm dropping money. I don't give the girls money as I really don't have much, but I will make sure to support her charity drive.

Small, local shelters usually actually use their money towards their causes. Maybe Amelia can find a bunch of small local shelters and split the donation total between each organization? That sounds like it'd be a lot of effort, work, and legal stuff behind that, but it was just a thought I had.

I love animals and want to help them too.
But there's a lot of really bad orgs out there that prey on animal lovers. The low level people like animals, but the upper level people like money.

I found that donating money is sometimes not the best but maybe ask the charities what they need and send that instead?

The MS Charity that Jerry Lewis worked with operated on 91 cents out of every dollar actually went to the charity, ever since I found that out that has been my metric of who and what my money goes to. That way I know for certain that people are actually donating their time and keeping operating costs to a minimum.
