MR. Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for another excellent video/lecture on Geometry Two Column Proofs of Angles- Addition, Substitution and Transitive Property. Learning the two column proofs can also be confusing, however constant practice and memorizing theorems and definitions are very helpful.

can this also be called a congruent supplements theorem: two angles that are supplementary to the same angle are congruent?

that was extremely helpful :) thank you so much for your help. i not sure if i did this right but i was solving the second question on my own and got a different answer hence you could not automatically assume that 2 is congruent to 3 from 1 being congruent to 4 even though it may be common sense to automatically assume that it doesn’t prove that with any actual reasoning, what i did for that problem was i put all the givens then i set angle one plus angle two equal to angle three plus angle four, using the supplement theorem. then you would substitute the four out for the three making it angle one plus angle two equals angle one plus angle three, lastly you would just get rid of the ones because there congruent. and you would get the final answer of angle two is congruent to angle three :) i know there are multiple ways to solve it but i don’t think that the said problem was explained well enough just jumping from angle 1 is congruent to angle 4 then assuming that angle 2 is congruent to angle 3

I have a question. Don't the lines have to be parallel for <1 to be congruent to <4?

9:37, step three, the reason " angle addition" you can also classify it as "the whole is equal to the sum of it's parts" based on what state you're in!
