The New Windows 11 Media Player App Overview

Windows 11 has a replacement for the old Windows Media Player that we have been using in Windows 10 and other older versions of Windows as well. This new app will be called just Media Player and is set to be a replacement for the Groove Music Player that many of us use to play our music and movie files.

In this video we go over all of the features of the Media Player program such as adding music files, creating playlists etc. and show you how it works. We have noticed that there is no burn CD or rip CD option so maybe that will change in future versions. We also noticed it doesn't want to play standard music CDs either.

The updated version of Media Player now allows you to rip CDs but not as MP3 files.

**UPDATE**
Microsoft has said that they added the CD playback functionality back to Windows Media Player.

Good info, I understand this was about a year ago. And hope you will be able to view this input. My liking of windows media player legacy. was that I was able to sync to, in my case tablet. I have yet been able to find a media player that dose that. This brand new and improved (????) media player failed to keep that option like the ripping of from CDs. I would complain, unfortunately what I have learned. I like in the movie The Running Man. Microsoft knows what the public wants without an inquiry from the real public. I know I'm not happy with this.

Windows Media Player, for the past many years and versions, intentionally destroys any custom album art you may apply to your library. Any images are If you play your tracks full screen, Media Player reduces the album art to 180x180 pixels - even if you have custom 1000x1000 pixel art. Completely useless. It also would overwrite custom art. I had an artist create custom art for an album and Media Player deleted it - yes, I had backups. So, point is, can you add to your video a screenshot of Media Player playing in full screen mode showing album art? I'm curious if they fixed that. Since it was a feature and not a bug, I doubt it's fixed but would love to see. Thanks for the video.

So I have a brand new machine with W11 and there is so much I dislike about the new OS and this just adds to it. I think I may see if I can uninstall this new Media player and install the old version that allowed CD's to be played as I still rip cd's and make my own playlists which I then copy onto a stick and play in my car. Old school I know, but MS engineers are too smart for their own good

I just bought a new computer with windows 11 and you can delete the past videos one at a time by right clicking on them. You can't stop it from saving the past viewed videos, so I stopped using it. I found a download for the old one and only use it.

BUT - how do you DELETE something on the music list? I've had a problem finding out, and found myself stuck with a half-downloaded piece of music that needs to be redone.

My issue is I am trying to add music to my powerpoint presentation, but have no music saved. When I go to itune or youtube I am having trouble saving any music to my music folder in my desktop in Windows 11. I know how to add audio, however, I allowed to save any music and don't know why.

i created a play list in this app but cannot find where it is located. i need to have it on the external flash drive to use outside of windows. what is the extension of the playlist created by this app? pls, m3u?

Still no transition, fade out and fade in next song. They will never reach the quality of the old MediePlayer.
