All Loot Items Explained and Ranked | Evil Genius 2

Updates ** Patch 1.4 fixed the achievement for getting all the loot items, hopefully this video helps you guys snag the achievement (used to be that Hubbard slice and flame of Prometheus being mutually exclusive broke the achievement).

Evil Genius 2 is full of loot items you can hunt down in side stories. These are powerful items of myth and legend, along side dumb carnival rides. You need to know if what you are investing in is going to be worth it, so that's where this video comes in. I explain all of the loot items in the game, how to unlock them, what their effects are, and if they are good. This list took me quite a while to put together, and hopefully serves as a hub of all the community's knowledge on the subject.

The tier list includes Pre-Order loot items, promotional loot items, and DLC loot items coming from the Cabal Pack DLC. All footage and analysis is coming from gameplay on patch 1.3.

Background info on No.2.

In the original EG1 "No.2" was the tutorial mentor. She would guide you through learning the basics of the game and was the credited creator of the many in-game tutorial videos that would explain parts of the game as you progress towards world domination. This proved her undoing as she essentially made herself obsolete that way and was executed by Eli on Max's behest shortly afterwards.

Her last words: "I never liked you anyway."

The chair is the Time Machine from H.G. Wells' The Time Machine. Its the OG that the DeLorean itself is based on.

The Tzar Bomba is the largest nuke ever dropped IRL. It was a ~50 megaton bomb, and had they gone all the way it might have reached ~100 MT.

The Sands Of Time was a big part of my Portal Pack DLC traps, since it could heal the turrets, allowing them to sustain against just about any super agent that couldn't out and out destroy them in one hit... Or those awful, awful exploding robots.

The chair is from the 1960 movie based on the HG Wells Time Machine.

I recently unlocked the Doors of Fort Knox side story immediately after completing the first quest for Blue Saint's elimination while on Objective 10. However, I had already done the first quest for the other Super Agents elimination as well. Blue Saint was simply the last. Since completion of a side story based in SMASH territory is what unlocked it, doing missions in SABRE territory may have nothing to do with it, or at least be only part of the puzzle. That being said, I had also done a fair number of schemes in SABRE territory, including intel based heat reduction schemes.

Also, the Columbian Emerald doesn't just help minions morale restore more quickly, it actually regenerates their morale while they have the buff, regardless of what they're doing. This easily puts this loot item in S tier for me. Just my thoughts.

Ah. So that's what the Meditation Stone does. I just thought it was bugged and doing nothing but drain smarts and I was keeping it around mainly as a decoration like the Bones and Pandora's Box.

A point in the RAYGUN's favor is that it doesn't lose durability, unlike the regular interrogation chair which keeps it as a decent fallback for when you do a lot of schemes that take technicians and/or set your base on fire as Ivan. The latter incidentally being a situation that the Hubbard Slice didn't actually help with in my first campaign, but that may have been patched since then.

Appreciate the work you've put into this, I barely even realized that loot items did anything other than look cool. I'm hoping to do my second run and put up all the items for the achievement :)

The Sands of Time is great for your prison since all those items have a constant and pretty fast decay (actually a tiny bit faster than the Sands repair) regardless of whether or not they're being used. The only problem with that is the radius isn't very generous compared to the size of prison items, but they can go a long way to letting your engineers deal with the rest of your base instead of constantly trying to keep all your holding cells and prisoner chairs intact.

A real cool thing about Carrion Flower and a Million Bees is that they also seems to be an obstacle. so if you replace a wall with them you are effectivly trapping 2 corridors with the same trap

Arabian jars are actually not bad for dealing with symetry. If you have multiple vaults the heist team sometimes enters in seperate places and having them enter in a vault where they can't steal anything can allow you to divide and conquer them quite easilly without any hickups in your gold capacity

In 1.4 Update, here is how I got Flame AND Fort Knox (Playing as Zalika, easy):

Flame of Prometheus was unlocked after upgrading doomsday device to stage 2. Side quest became available immediately after digging the 12 dirt.

Doors of Fort Knox was unlocked after completing 25 "heat schemes", which is tracked under the Global Operations tab. I do not think the schemes need to be in a certain region, and anything that reduces heat (even quest/story schemes) counts.

Sands of Time works amazingly with those Engineer workstations that break down Really fast (you know, the group think circle and test chamber things).

The green emerald basically gives a morale regen buff to any minion that passes by, also making things like Salaries completely obsolete. Any unpaid minion will just get their morale filled up by just walking by. Just put the emerald at some main corridor crossroads where all the minions walk by it. Absolutely S tier imo.

The old bones trains up to quantum biologist. But only works fully when you unlock the minion type
