Russian Army Parade, Victory Day 2017 Парад Победы

This is the parade on Moscow's Red Square devoted to the 72nd anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. This parade would introduce new Imperial inspired military parade uniforms for officer rank personnel. Taking the salute is Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu. Commanding the parade is Supreme Commander of the Russian Ground Forces, Colonel General Oleg Salyukov. Music performed by the Central Military Band conducted by Colonel Timofey Mayakin.

Love the precision and the sense of power and nationalism you get from these parades. Nothing wrong at all with saying we are proud of who we are and our history, not like Western Europe now where you can be told not to fly your own flag in public lest it offend somebody from a minority group. Hope it continues for years to come. I will go watch the Victory Day parade in May, as I like to feel there is a part of Europe that is still strong, retains its identity and is not ashamed of who it is.

A lot of people in Poland still remember that polish soldiers fought together with russians against nazi germany all a way to Berlin. It's our common victory. Despite not easy history we have more in common than less, we are slavic people and we should cooperate. It is shame what kind of ideology is being forced now in Poland. But Poland is under occupation of NATO and eu...maybe one day will come that we slavyanie will be together against demoralised west. Hope so.

I am honored of my great grandfather who fought in the red army, I never got to see him. He died of old age and survived the war after his guts were blown out.

It was so strange when he retired then he died in a plane crash, I was very shocked when I read the news in the USA. Oh and some of my American friends are getting butt hurt complaining Trump wants to have a military parade. I showed them clips like this and said, what is the big deal Russians have been celebrating VE day every year since after the war? BTW That song they played is called the Sacred War, classical piano background, na zdrovie blessings to your health Russia, URA.
