Just watched a film of the 1985 parade. It took 4 minutes for the tanks to pass. Then over 60 missile launching trucks and thousands of soldiers sailors and an enormous fly past of airplanes and helicopters.

If anybody does not understand what this is about, it is the Russian military and the Russian people honoring the 26 million people that they lost during the second world war. A war where every single family lost family members and friends and suffered the pain of grief from those losses.
This is not about pride, it is about honoring the dead.
The Great Patriotic War, as they know it.
