DIY Modern Platform Bed/Platform Bed/Floyd Home Bed/Modern Bed

Let’s make a platform bed using Floyd Home bed hardware! This project was easy and turned out wonderful! Plus, it included a trip to my favorite place Home Depot!
Queen Measurements:
Buy 4 8ftx4ftx3/4” Birch Plywood. Have the clerk cut 8 panel pieces total (2 out of each large panel you buy)
6- 86”x22”
2- 63”x18” for the headboard

King Measurements:
Buy 5 8ftx4ftx3/4” Birch Plywood. Have the clerk cut 10 panel pieces total (2 out of each large panel you buy)
8- 86”x22” for a standard king mattress
2- 85”x 18”

Hi! Is there any wobbling on the headboard? If there is, would adding some cork padding give it more friction to secure it in place?

Could you use the twin kit and make a long headboard to make a daybed for a guest bedroom? Not 100% if you could use the headboard kit on the side of the bed versus the head of the bed. Surprised they don't offer that option. If yes, can you give the supplies and info needed to build that out?

Why did you not use a saw or sander to take off the uneven cuts? I understand it takes more time however it makes it looks better and not so homemade.

Hi! Is there a mistake in the king measurements for the panels? You wrote 89”x22” for the platform panels but the Floyd panels are 86”x22” just like the queen. Are you recommending we cut them and make bigger panels?

Also thank you so much for this video. My girlfriend and I are about to do exactly what you laid out in this video! We didn’t know anything about sourcing or cutting wood so this was super helpful.

I done woodworking before in high-school years ago .I was thinking about making platform bedframe to .I seen people try use plywood make them .my guestion why type wood did u use make it with .did u make any tiny pugs holes to put wooden pug in to snap frame altogether that it stay tight .did u make tiny legs on bottom hold it up from top to bottom .u did good job if I make one I do not know if I go with head board or not .oh how much did u spend on wood my guess 200 or more .
