I like these kind of comparison videos… It helped me to pick out a Melodica recently, but I think it helps to play a longer section of the song on each of the whistles, especially when there are octave jumps involved

I have been practicing on my new Killarney high D and find the tone is very clear and pure compared to the more breathy Clarke Sweetone. I do find more difficulty cleanly hitting the low D after playing upper octave notes, but I am a total beginner.

LOL 5 days ago I ordered a new C whistle. My $10 one just didn't cut it any more as it sounded too "tin-y" haha. Waiting on my Killarney Brass, 👍tx for the review Stephanie.

Being a killer whistle player helps. None of them sound a 10th that good in MY hands 😄
Actually I should probably put this emoji 😭

Thx to your channel I've bought a whistle and practiced it for a week. Surprisingly it's easy to actually make something resembling music on it. I thought it would be worse :-D (however it's still hard for me to play high octave in tune but I'm working on it)

My first whistle was a Clarke Sweettone C. Nowadays my goto whistle is a Howard Low D and I pretty much play high whistle range stuff on alto recorder now, but I still ponder adding a low C whistle or even a bass Bb.

A bit hard to get the comparison as some of them were played in different registers. Thanks for sharing!

The Brass & Nickel ones have a sound my soul likes, can you point me where you got these? I am having a problem with deciding if I like that brass one better or the nickel whistle.

I'd love a recommendation for a "mellow" whistle that also plays well in the upper register. I have some Woodi whistles, and I love their round, mellow sound for some songs. But I find it's hard to get a clean sound in their upper register. Is there a whistle brand you can recommend that has a nice round, mellow voice, but also plays well in the upper register?
