The craziest thing from Nintendo last report is BOTW manages to outsell TOTK. Tbh that's kinda pathetic. No wonder Nintendo IPs keep becoming irrelevant nowadays.

Nintendo needs to cut the prices of the Switch and keep the momentum going.

Pokemon Z-A and a Pokemon Z-A Switch Lite will boost the numbers, like Pokemon always does. Add in a price drop and it's all there.

Price drops have always been a part of a system's life cycle...except for Nintendo with the Wii U & Switch.

Sure, you make less per console, but Switch hardware was sold at a profit DAY ONE. There's no way manufacturing costs of 2015 tech hasn't gotten more profitable over the last 7-8 years.

Making more per console sold, while selling dramatically less units, or making less per console, while selling far more units... 8 years in, you should probably consider the latter (especially if you're selling profiting off hardware).

The Q1 sales always had regression and it’s nothing new, by nature. Considering how it went t from winter to spring when people spend less on video games.

There needs to be a software surprise if they're going to hit that number

You got to remember Andres the Japanese Yen 💴 is still really weak right now. Nintendo could be holding the Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess HD and Zelda Wind Waker HD ports or one or the other for the holiday season this year. It could be anything current switch consoles related. Or Nintendo is adding the rumor GameCube app to NSO.

maybe it's just Nintendo being Nintendo

Maybe it's another revision of the switch, a pocketable one(clamshell?) by means of a new, more efficient cpu perhaps

I see a Switch Mini the size of a Roku or so that only plays on a TV for $149.99.

It's obvious that Nintendo knows something that we don't or Maybe they just truly believe that the new switch lite along with Zelda and Mario party jamboree and mario n luigi brothership is enough to get them 13 million

either way it'll be surprising to see what they will do, but I don't think there will be any price cuts.

Seems very promising! My only doubt about it being their statement: " Statements relating to future projections represent the judgments
made by Nintendo management based on information that was available at the time it is written...", I belive they include the income from the museum and other merchandise aswell as the announced games coming in fall. But otherwise, it may be as you say, as typically in August/September was another direct or game announcement. I hope for the latter of course! Keep up your good work Andres!

Maybe instead of a price drop, it's going to be improved bundles. Nintendo Switch Oled & a $60 game for $350. Or maybe Nintendo Switch & a $60 game plus a second game for $300 (maybe Mario Kart & A Kirby Game)

It's the TotK/Mario movie effect. Acting like it's surprising is like WB expecting a licensed DC looter shooter to sell like Hogwart's Legacy. Oh...

Great video, nice work.
I think you’re right, Nintendo may drop the price of the Switch upon the release of it’s successor.
The only thing about the 3DS, prices were dropped as it wasn’t selling too well.
The Switch still has some steam, it’s doing very well regardless.

Bundles and maybe a last minute price drop for the holidays. They don't really need to hit any targets at all anyway. The drop in stocks means very little and even if they don't hit targets again it's fine. New console will eliminate all of the downturn for a good while.

yes I 100% agree a Nintendo Switch *price drop* is the only thing that will allow them to sell 13.5M units this FY. And honestly it's grossly overdue : the console is a glorified tablet with a chip from 2015... After the successor is formally announced and showcased later this year, they should immediately follow with a Switch price drop between 30% & 50% for Christmas 2024. They'll then indeed reach a new customer base that can buy games for the 1st time (a new Nintendo Selects range would help as well). This really should have happened last year but Nintendo can't stick to schedules apparently, so better late than never I guess...

Nintendo basically has 4 cards left to play w/ Switch - (1) - A trio of NEW games in Zelda: EoW, Mario Party, & Mario & Luigi... (2) - The Zelda Switch Lite... (3) - A potential price drop... (4) Pokemon Legends ZA... now there could be a 5th or 6th card down the road.... for example... Mario's 40th anniversary is next year so what if we get a Mario 40th anniversary direct in say March (March 10th ?) and they announce Super Mario Galaxy 2 HD for Switch... or maybe there is a Super Mario Bros Wonder bundle in Q4... there are many options left to keep the Switch kicking but... what if Pokemon Legends ZA is further along than we think and is potentially slated for a February or March release? Nintendo likes to have a big game prior to their fiscal year ending to get that final surge in both software and hardware sales and Legends ZA would certainly do the trick... the game probably is further out but it's just a thought, you never know...

Switch-2 gimmick will be "use any gen1 or gen2  Switch as a second-screen controller". Just like the Wii-U gamepad worked. Pair up to 4 Switches.

This is the best explanation for why they are adding new themed Switch SKUs and accessories so close to the reveal of the Switch-2.

Also explains why Zelda WW HD and TP HD haven't been released to switch yet. They want to maintain that second-screen experience that the Wii-U gave for those games.

Imagine 4 switches paired to a tv connected Switch-2 console, for couch co-op games. They all get the second screen experience (compared to with Wii-U you could only have 1 screen gamepad connected).

You say this is the fourth year of declining sales but it's still on track for a single year to outsell the entire lifetime of Wii U or to make a different comparison, it's still on track to sell only a few million less than the PS5.
