Soccer Is Boring

People say soccer is boring because it's low scoring. But football is low scoring too, they just make up points.

Well, as a german, I find soccer football often boring. And it is so much low scoring.

It isn't that it's low scoring, it's that it's mostly uneventful. The action is relatively slow compared to most sports and the number of scoring ATTEMPTS are low. Most of the games are waiting for something important pivotal to happen. People argue that it builds tension, but tension doesn't always equal fun or excitement. And that always involves a higher level of investment in the game. In faster sports at least there to appreciate in terms spectical of of sheer althleticism, speed, or strength.

NFL football used to end in tied games. They changed it around '73 or so.

Interesting point.... but even with that in mind there are more scoring plays in football. Football still has more scoring when you take into account it's a shorter game time-wise, there are multiple ways to score and it's more varied overall. Soccer is just a bunch of people kicking a ball around and every 2 hours it maybe goes in the net.

How are football points arbitrary? Extra point = 1 point, safety/conversion = 2 points, field goal = 3 points and touchdown = 6 points.
A 21 to 14 game could be any combination of those scores. There are multiple ways to score in football and only one in soccer.

Soccer needs the least equipment to play (just a ball) so all kids around the world play it. And when you play a sport you develop a respect for the skills required. You only respect soccer if you try to play and realize how much you suck at it.

I also don't understand why US sports fans call it soccer. This is simple. There is football played around the world, and there is NFL football played only in the US. Just call it NFL football! Why is that so hard?!? Wtf! It's so fucking annoying!

Touchdowns are worth 6 pts and then there can be either 0, 1, or 2 points after that. Field goals are worth 3 pts. while safeties are worth 2 pts. You can barely translate this to rugby much less soccer.

People only like soccer/football in Europe because most americans are bad at football/soccer and Europeans are better so that is why americans footballers don’t get a lot of respect, and plus you were a college soccer/football player so you should know that the reason why the game is low scoring is because there is offside and the pitch is like 100 meters long

I think there is skill in just about any sport. Soccer included. That being said, it doesn’t make it exciting or entertaining. I played soccer in school in pe class, and no one liked it. We all begged our teacher to play something else. It’s not entertaining to watch either. It is a third world country sport. True you can use anything from a coconut to a big ball of duct tape to play it. So it’s accessible to many. It’s just not exciting or entertaining. The challenges are stamina, dribbling, passing and kicking. I think of hockey as soccer on ice with a much smaller court. And I enjoy hockey. Soccer bores the hell out of me and could care less to ever watch it.

I see to that Brits rugby fans say that soccer is just dichaed run for 90 minutes, in that logic, rugby its just bunch of dichaed run and catch ball shape like egg for 80 minutes
