Indian railways are the home of the oldest currently-operational locomotive in the world, a steamer named Fairy Queen which was built in 1855.

Very nostalgic. An era that has moved us and is now gone leaving just footprints of memory.

The National Rail Museum at New Delhi is a testament to the hard work of the gentleman in this documentary. The Patiala State Monorail has been preserved and is still in working order in the year 2021. Thank you for helping preserving the history of the Indian Railways.

A nicely compiled documentary showcasing the glory of Indian Railways. Great work.
@14:00 It seems the person operating the inspection trolley and also giving explanation about token system is Mr. Vishnu who later on became the GM of Central Railways.
He can also be seen in the BBC'S Great Indian Railways documentary.

What a wonderful film, thanks for sharing. I had the pleasure and privilege to visit India in 2018 and visited Howrah station and Railway Museum, the Railway Museum in Delhi, the Darjeeling Railway and the Shimla Railway as well as a trip from Delhi to Rewari behind the Fairy Queen - all very unique but memorable experiences.

Great work by you. This video made me to go back to the olden days when my grandparents used to travel by such steam locomotives, and when my mother and father were kids. The background music of sitar and tabla, the narration, the citizens and over all no plastic made me to realise the quality of life thought not financially rich but richly satisfied than todays.
