You missed it:
Except those who died in said camps were of diseases as a result of poor hygiene of soviet troops. They had to be forced to keep the hygiene standards yet they kept not obey by it. On the top of that, survival ratio of soviet troops in polish camps were way higher than in their natural habitat - meant soviet army's barracks.
Therefore, it was not the revenge. It was pure genicide.

Well about the same amount of polish captives died in soviet pow camps. But it’s more a problem of standards of prisoner keeping, hygiene standards in general as well as in the medical field and the general geographical locations of both countries than pure malice that so many died.
