The only confusion I could see from other members who don't understand. The reason you didn't have enough power with one battery, then 2 then 3 but 4 worked was the resistance of the drill after the hack. The only reason it pulled so little power, wasn't because the battery couldn't handle the amperage. It was because the drill needed more voltage with high resistance to get enough amperage to run the drill. The single 12V battery probably has the power if you connected a boost converter capable of the amperage. Great Video and Hack!!!

That drilling machine motor is a universal motor, so it can run on both dc and ac. you only need to rewind its coil to 12v.(theoretically 😁)

If you were going to use that many batteries, you would have left the original drill and it worked the same way

If you set DC voltage at any brushed machine it will work without modifying. If you get 10 batteries you'll get 127v DC . You will have to reverse the wires if want to run reverse.

Mr Electric, you need to changing Armicher Details too, this kind of drail normally have this details : 20 or 22 turns of 0.25 mm Cooper wire, and Every coils exist by two in serial turns, mining is Twin 22 turns. I tell you the best new details is : 2 x 4 turns from 0.5 mm Cooper wire . And you most understanding about correct circuits in collector . Be happy .

Гораздо проще используя 18650 литиевые 20 шт последовательно питать любой инструмент с коллекторным двигателем рассчитанный на 220 в, не надо никаких переделок, дрель на 500 Вт потребляет примерно 1 ампер, а так по мне инструмент испортил
