The first step is to do the practice tests and set a realistic goal. Don't try to aim for perfection, 7 is good enough, 8 is very good. Writing and speaking is always the hardest part. You won't be good at speaking or writing if you don't have the necessary vocabulary in your head. It is one thing to understand what you read, but totally another to write the kind of article you read yourself.
