The 12 ultra is really looking great, but the problem is that a lot of people would still choose Samsung 22 ultra, because is just overall best in Android

And it will still suck. Period.
Cameras have long been about stable video recording and selfie quality. Night time videos are impossible. Night time photos have been perfected 2 years ago.
Getting a night time capable phone is as easy as getting some Pixel 6, Vivo 60\70, Mi 11 Pro\Ultra. Basically an affordable GN1-2. In Pixel's case that would at least offer some passable video quality.
Other than that... zoom has been made redundant 2 years ago. That's why Xiaomi and Oneminus have dumped it for their mid-flagship models.
Ultrawide competition has failed, because nobody cared. Just like periscopic cameras and sliders failed 3 years ago.

And this isn't the first 1" sensor. Sharp had it. Sony had it. And I don't care "it" or "not it" - it was 1". It was some 2000$.
Did it do better than iphone? Than some samsung or huawei? Than some half-decent processing? No. No it didn't. It offered some hardware advantage and, in Sony's case - some "input" freedom.

But this is Xiaomi. With horrible selfies. Without good video recording. Their last Ultra is questionable for its 600$ price from China even now. Because even OneMinus 10 might be better processing and video recording and selfies.

So, what, this 1" Ultra will cost even more? Not 900$, like the legendary Mi 10 Ultra. Not 1200$, like the last Ultra. Is Xiaomi going Xperia? Samsung Ultra? Huawei Mate Pro Plus?

Kudos for trying, but better brands have tried and failed. Some even died for it. Xiaomi should focus on making the best affordable phones it can, not try to beat the "highest" market. The highest market is ecosystmed. Apple drones. Long-time samsung fans. Huawei users with thousands of dollars of Huawei stuff. And those phones... can do quite good. Especially the latest iphones, because Apple has broken all anti-monopoly laws and is basically owning USA and Taiwan. I won't speak for Sharp, because it's like the Japan's Oppo, but Sony, even SONY couldn't make THE BEST camera out there purchasable with cash and dead babies. And yet I gotta admit that their flagship Xperias are the best phones out there period, not castrates like crapple.
But for 1500-2000$ - who cares?
And who's going to care now?
