Fishing Line Cuts Deep Into Seal's Neck
Показать описание
Even the most robust and healthiest seal can be ensnared by a tiny little fishing line loop. The exact number of fishing line loops floating in the ocean remains unknown, but we know they are getting more daily. Every time a hobbyist fisherman spends a few hours on the beach, he breaks his line and adds more loops to the plastic heap. Marine animals do not only have to deal with this year's plastic rubbish - we also have to remember that fishing line loops from 10 years and longer ago continue to be strong and resilient enough to continue their job and kill marine animals, just like today's new ghost fishing gear will become the burden for all upcoming generations.
