Signs of Developmental Delay at Age 2 | Child Development

Some signs that your 2-year old may be developmentally delayed would be if they're not walking, if they're not talking, if they're not able to understand simple phrases, if they don't understand who you are.

In other words, if they're not pointing to you when you're saying mommy. If they're not responding to you, if they're withdrawn, if they are not engaged. And what engagement means really is are they looking at you, is there that shared attention, can you look at them and see that their understanding what you're saying.

Or if you're talking to them are they staring at the ceiling? Or are they going off into the corner and completely withdrawn? Those are some areas for concern. Any time your child loses a skill that they once had, is another area for concern.

So that could be something like if they were talking to you, if they were able to say my cup please mommy or mommy my cup, and all of a sudden they're not saying that, that is cause for concern. And above all else, trust your instincts. You know as a parent your child better than anyone and if you feel for any reason that there may be a delay in your child's development, do not delay in seeking help or advice.

And by that, go speak with your child's pediatrician and have a discussion on your child's development.

You know in our country there is no concept like autism. All children are different, everyone intellectual level is different, even we adults cannot do everything same. Give your child some time they will learn eventually. In our country who is not social we simply call them shy. We do not put disability label on them.

My son is two and not talking yet.
Plus his not showing any signs of wanting to learn and talk.
My son is not learning and saying numbers and letters.
Lord please help my son to be come more intelligent and smart.
Lord help me start talking please.
I feel like there is something demonic hold me and my son.

The devil is a liar.
I want the devil to go away so I can teach my son how to read and write.
Right now the devil is holding me back and taking my energy so I am not able to teach my son how to speak.

My son spent six months in the nicu. He had to be trached and ventilated to come home. He can do and say all these things. Proud of my little guy.

My daughter who is 2 years old doesnot respond to her name, yesterday I visited pediatrician and he said it's not normal and he adviced immediate BERA audiology test
She was IUGR baby. delivered on 34 weeks and was 1.5 kg weigh .she took her first steps when she was 18 months and she showed delayed milestones in everything like sitting crawling If she is doing anything and I said No she immediately stops and started crying .if we put on music in car she started dancing.is this developmental delay
