One of my favourite coldplay songs. They went a bit too pop after this album for my liking, but the first 4 albums all had some great tunes on them . This one being on the 4th album If i remember correctly

(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction is my dad’s favorite song! He had a few too many beers at my sister’s wedding reception and kept yelling for the dj to play it. I don’t think he ever did 😆😩

First off, definitely Stones' (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction is one to check out and has a cool backstory.
Thank you to TheMaoMao27 for recommending this one. Drummer Will Champion, to me, feels like if Dave Grohl played pop, although this song may not be the best example of that. They are indeed English. I have to echo another's comment that their first 4 albums are gold. You would probably easily recognize Yellow, Clocks, or Viva La Vida as having heard it before. For something more of a deep cut, check out Warning Sign, Trouble, or Shiver.

I really enjoy “Violet Hill”. It’s a very unique song for them and the album that this song comes from (Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends).

I’ve enjoyed Coldplay’s music for my entire life. I suggest if you want to hear some really good songs of theirs, I suggest going through their back catalogue, as that’s where they shine the most.

I am not sure if this is right but my interpretation is that this song is about the class devide between rich and poor. "from the windows they where watching while we froze down below". this would also fit with the title "violet hill" being a neighborhood in london, near their studio, where mostly rich people live

Thought it was a love song too but then wondered, is he talking to God? ‘If you love me, won’t you let me know?’ Otherwise, why are all these shitty things happening? Just a thought. Will have to listen again now. ❤ Thx guys.
(OK read the lyrics now and it does seem to be referencing some war or time in history or just a battle. And why did he have to die why did God forsake him? That’s kind of what I’m getting from it. Peace. ☮️
