I loved this movie and the fact that James Garner was in it considering he was the original Maverick in the 1950s TV series. It's the first western series i ever watched with my grandfather. I didn't really like it then but grew to love it. Id give alot for him to be alive and to watch some westerns with him.

For those who didn't know, this movie was actually Gibson's idea. He'd watched the reruns of the original series, and he liked it so much, he contacted a friend of his, the late, great Richard Donner, who directed this, and told him that he wanted to make this movie
