2023 Muscle Car Comparison – Who’s Winning? Dodge vs. Chevy vs. Ford Performance & Sales

Today I wanted to take a look at all of the muscle cars from the big three American manufacturers. We will do a full in-depth comparison of the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, and Dodge Challenger from the current generation, looking at the features, engines, power output, and more, and then we will look to the sales figures of each vehicle and see who’s actually winning the muscle car wars these days and outselling the competition.

Bonus: What is a muscle car? I’m using the definition which states a few points that make a vehicle a muscle car, including a large V8 engine, RWD, being manufactured in the United States (or by an American manufacturer), two-door body, and being designed for drag racing while remaining street legal. So the Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger best fit that definition. The Charger is omitted as it has the four doors, and other cars that you might argue could be a muscle car, like a Corvette or AMG C63 or BMW M4 and so on are ruled out as they fall under the personal luxury cars, which are too expensive to be considered a muscle car by most people.

Dodge is beloved by all but the mustang sounds incredible and always seems to have staying power . Chevy won't listen to customer criticism and keeps stopping production on the Camaro instead of giving their customers what they ask for . Put the chevy on a serious diet, reinvent their 6.2 liter to produce more naturally aspirated hp, and improve visibility and the Chevy wouldn't have problems selling .

The camaro is the best on paper, however the bad visibility made alot of people go mustang which is basically just as good. Plus most girls seem to like mustangs more so theres that.

So the biggest problem I see here is the price of dodge cars an rt shouldn’t cost 40k it should be between 30k and 35k and scats should be 40k and 48k there price scheme is just unfriendly towards the average working class person

I'm just wondering about the sales figures as the Mustang and Camaro are sold internationally but the Dodge isn't, Are the sales figures for America only?
As an Australian there are a massive amount of Mustang's sold through Ford dealerships and the Camaro's were imported through a GMSV that i assume is a GM offshoot but only very few Dodge's are imported due to Australian design rule changes and massive cost to convert.

The Mustang is the best sports car of the three, high revving engine with a 6spd manual and the inside has imo the best quality feel. The challenger is the best looking and sounding but unfortunately, they have become hood trophies at this point, and owners are being followed home by thiefs.
