Lisa: @0:08 _"The _*_first thing_*_ you should _*_absolutely never do_*_ with your Instant Pot _*_is set it on the stove top."_*
Lisa: @11:05 *_Instant Pot sitting prominently on her stove top._* 🤣

@5:50 Lisa saying she doesn't mean to sound "condescending". Girl, that is why I'm here! I *_need_* you to tell me how not to mess this all up! 😉

In all seriousness, I love to come back to several of your videos every now and again so that I will keep feeling confident in using my Instant Pot. Plus, I am in love with your recipes. Thank you for all that you do for us... no way could I afford to make some of the "rookie" mistakes, or ruin lots of food trying to make new dishes. Be safe and be well. ~Peace!

It's such a joy to watch your videos. Of course, this one is especially valuable. Well done and thank you. My 6-quart Rio arrived two days ago and I'm going to cook some rice this weekend after watching this video and reading the manual.

Don't pressure cook overly thick stews directly in the liner. Some components of the stew, rice in my case when I was attempting a rice stew, may stick to the bottom of the pot and will prevent the pot from coming to pressure before the stuck material starts to burn, in which case the pot's safety feature will shut it down without pressurizing or finishing cooking. In my case, no actual harm was done. I just had to transfer the contents to separate bowls and pressure cook these on trivets so that nothing could stick to the liner bottom. The meal was delayed, but not ruined. Thank goodness for the safety features!

Thank you for your videos. I've used tried using the silicon trivet to make eggs and other foods and didn't cook?

Always great to be reminded, or to learn the easy way through you for newbies. Love this list, and the one that really hit home for me is the 'make something simple' for the first time out. I got a little ambious with some ballpark times and lost a bit of confidence when I was letting off pressure 2-3 times to keep checking on the item. Great video.

I love your videos! I have seen a good tip for avoiding melting the bottom of your IP if you have to put it on a glass top stove. If the knob(s) for the burner(s) that your pot is on come(s) off easily then that basically makes it very difficult for the burner(s) to be accidentally bumped on. In my case I'm not normally doing more than one process at a time when I cook. The holidays are about the only time that I have more than one pot going at a time! As always my absolute very very best to you and yours! Take care!!!!
