As an older gentleman who often times has grave concerns regarding the lack of decorum and etiquette of today’s men, I have found a certain amount of optimism by finding men like you upholding traditional standards. Please keep up this endeavor.

For #2: After ending my career as a military officer, I briefly worked as an assistant manager at a rural bar. Employees complained behind my back that I dressed too nicely (Nice flannel shirt tucked into blue jeans with a buckled belt). Its amazing how comfortable people are looking like ass in public these days.

You miss one: A gent does not pay too much attention to his smartphone. Nowadays everyone walks around on the streets just looking on their phones. Like zombies. A gent does not do that.

I have to acknowledge as a man in his mid 70s that I’ve been letting some of my manners slip over the last few years. It might be part of the general observation that as people get older they don’t care what other people think as much as they did previously in their lives. However, seeing this and other videos on this channel has made me realize I really should raise my standards. Thanks for helping me become more self-aware.

As an older gentleman...it's unfortunate videos like this need to be made...but thank you for making them. The younger generation needs to see these.

Noting that your presence in any space becomes a part of that space is something that really, really bears reminding. Show respect for others, even if you don't respect them.

1. Be discreet and respectful with your criticism.
2. Dress appropriately.
3. Be mindful of the tone of your conversations in public.
4. Conduct personal hygiene in private.
5. Don't spit in public.
6. Groom nails in private.
7. Use proper language in public places.

Thank you for mentioning people who go to the supermarket in their P.J. bottoms (usually with slippers or sandals) to do their shopping. I live in a Working Class neighborhood that is very slowly going down the toilet. Have lived here for 22 years, and no; it didn't always used to be like that. Folks used to have enough respect for themselves NOT to walk around like low-life trash. It is just disgusting. Ironically they either don't seem to realize or don't care that if they themselves show no respect for themselves, they shouldn't expect others to do so either.

I'm very glad you're getting this information out there.

Excellent.
As for coughing something up, carry a handkerchief. My father told me, “gentlemen always carry a handkerchief”.
I say two, one for you and one for a lady.

As a woman I not only agree with this for men but for women too . EVERYONE should pay attention to this . Love it .🥰

I clicked on this for no apparent reason, and was pleasantly surprised! The e hosts demeanor exudes confidence, and class. You can be "steerage" and still be a gentleman with class!

Dress like an adult. I've been saying this for years. Thank you good sir, for the wise words.

Rather than airing your grievances in public a true gentleman will challenge the offender to a duel.

Amazing video, A year ago i took the no contact route, well i wouldn't say it didn't go well, but i missed her and sometimes you have to leave your comfort zone and go for what you want, Without knowing and having a huge ego, we might actually miss out on our soul mate all in the name of not settling for less, I know who i am, and at the same time i know what i want for me, so i did all i could to get her back, and I must say, it was the best decision i have ever made, we have been together again for over 7 months, yes marriage isnt always rosy, but i am lucky to have her, just as she is to have me, we compliment each other.

Totally agree on the loudspeaker. When I go fishing sometimes a guy there ruins our peace with taking calls on his loudspeaker

Great video ! Back on track again! First item:
*Airing a grievance publicly, * is a specialty of Narcissists. They boost their ego by showing how observant and righteous-minded they are, while not caring squat about their "victim" -- even if its a valid grievance
*Airing a grievance privately, * is gracious, gives the person a chance to learn and to fix it or prevent it in the future, its the Christian thing to do. You'd want that way be done to you if you messed up.

It all boils down to self-control, respect for yourself and others. I feel we are regressing as a society where individual freedom is being perceived as doing whatever you want with little regard to others.

Excellent advice. I’m guilty of sometimes paying too much attention to my phone. I’ll do it less from now. You have a new subscriber.
