In today's video I will show you 9 Home Remedies For Bed Bugs That Work Fast so if your ready let's go.

1. Vacuum.

Before you try any other home remedy, remove any clutter in your house, and vacuum thoroughly.

Some of the critical places to vacuum include furniture, mattress, carpet, boxes, etc.

Use your vacuum cleaner's hose to suck them out.

Vacuuming the house works fast as it removes the eggs and the bed bugs.

2. Diatomaceous Earth.

Diatomaceous Earth is a fossilized remains that look like sand, which feels extraordinarily sharp and rough for bed bugs.

Since bed bugs possess a weak exoskeleton- if they crawl over this sand, it will shred them.

Sprinkle this sand on infested areas, then leave for about 24-48 hours.

You can get this sand from stores, but make sure you keep out of reach for animals and children.

It is poisonous when ingested, but touching causes no harm.

3. Tea Tree Oil.

As an alternative to alcohol, try using tree tea oil.

It is not toxic when inhaled, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal.

Although tree oil won't instantly kill the bed bugs, it is a strong deterrent.

If you are sensitive to its smell, you can dilute a little bit with water.

4. Vinegar.

Vinegar will work to kill bed bugs instantly but should be used together with other home remedies.

Spray undiluted vinegar on cracks, furniture, and other infested areas.

Since it will kill only the bedbugs, use Diatomaceous Earth or vacuum to remove the larvae.

5. Borax.

Borax is also one of the home remedies for bedbugs that work fast.

It is a natural household cleaning item.

Sprinkle it over the infested areas and leave for about 24 hours it will suffocate the bedbugs.

Besides, you can add it to your washing machine when cleaning items.

I recommend you try the Millard brand of borax powder for this exercise.

6. Rubbing Alcohol.

Alcohol can kill bed bugs, its larvae, and the eggs.

By using an alcohol dilution of 90% or more, you can instantly kill the bedbugs.

Try putting the alcohol in a spray bottle and spray the infested areas or when you spot them.

Nonetheless, note to use alcohol with caution- it is highly flammable and toxic when inhaled.

7. Lavender and Peppermint Oil.

The scent of Lavender and Peppermint oil acts as a strong deterrent to bedbugs.

Although it cannot kill them instantly, it will help to put them off your home.

Mix equal portions of lavender and peppermint oil, add twice as much water and spray the infested areas.

You can find this product on online health food stores, i.e., Amazon.

8. Use Extreme Cold or Heat.

You need to ash your household items with boiling water.

Washing with hot water kills bedbugs immediately.

Besides, you can use a steam cleaner (typically above 140 degrees Fahrenheit) for big items you cannot toss into the washing machine.

If an item is not washable freeze it.

Put all these items in a plastic bag and place them in a deep freezer. After 24 hours, you can remove these items and clean them to remove the dead eggs and bedbugs.

9. Bleach.

Bleach is a harsh chemical that kills bed bugs on contact.

It oxidizes their exoskeleton- works quite fast, in less than 24 hours. However, it stains hence not suitable to use on clothing, furniture, etc.
