Fun fact, some furniture in an upstairs house in east falador, was moved because of me after the falador rework (back in the days before rs3). I'd logged out in a spot where my character couldnt move after the update and the home teleport wasnt a thing yet

That path to goblin village should be a low level agility shortcut

People complained about the trees that make you go around to the fairy ring of the tower of life but then cry on a small hole in a place no one goes or cares at goblin villa... OK

One thing I really noticed was the karambwanji lake, it went from ridculously steep sides to flat.

Funny that the goblin village path change was too much but fairy ring tree removal was a nice quality of life change. Even in 2006 that goblin village path was annoying.

That tree change is wild, I KNEW something was different. I picked the game back up after over two years of not playing it and something felt off about the way the world looked. It was the trees. I liked the old lighting better tbh.

6:38 Man I cannot stand that mentality, not in games or irl. Theres things I had to fight with endlessly at work that have since been updated and made so much easier for the newer guys. Im fuckin stoked they dont need to deal with the broken bs I did, and Id be stoked if new players didnt need to waste time running a needlessly long path.

Now theres a limit to that of course, like if they made Dragon items equippable at level 5 atk Id be mad. But just sinple Qol improvements? I love to see them because stuff like needing to walk around half a continent is just pointless and unnecessary.

I actually didn’t mind the Zeah favor system. Not the original one, but the updated one that allowed you to gain favor with all the houses at once.

I played RS2 back in the day then moved over to WoW in ‘05. WoW has reputations (or it did when I played, that may have changed now) and you can do quests, some are one time quests, some are daily quests, and they allow you to raise your reputation with a faction. Higher reputation allowed you to get discounts at their shops, and allowed you to purchase special items from their vendors that were locked behind reputation ranks. There’s usually very few reputations that are necessary as the rewards are usually stuff like gear that is on par with other gear which is much more accessible, sometimes there’s cooking recipes or stuff like that, and some reputations have special mounts you can buy once you hit the highest reputation rank of exalted. So none of the stuff is really necessary per se.

So having a system like in OSRS was pretty natural for me coming from WoW. The higher your favor, the more benefits you gain from the houses. It didn’t bother me at all, especially because it was so easy to get 100% favor with them. Some WoW rep grinds could take hundreds of quests, or months of daily quests to get max rep, and I did a few dozen of them to max rank, mostly for the unique mounts that you unlocked from different factions as I was a bit of a collector.

The kawambwanji fishing spot used to have like an 80° cliff that you'd just stand on to fish, but the area was flattened

7:01 I think anyone who has the mindset of "I suffered so everyone else has to suffer." should seek therapy to get to a better place in life. Improvements are improvements, your past suffering should mean you want LESS suffering in the world not more. The shortcut should have stayed.

I know you weren't focusing on RS2, but I found a floating Lesser Demon right outside Tutorial Island in 2011-05-20. Made me chuckle a bit! Thanks for sharing this resource, I've spent the last hour checking out RS2 (the world I grew up in) for the first time in over a decade

Amazing. I love seeing these changes.

It's wild to me how some of these locations - like the furnace in Edgeville - have just become second nature to me in RS3 but it wasn't always there in OS

10:03 I started a Zeah-locked ironman a few months before the Kourend Favour system was removed, and I realized that I was locked out of Lovakengj entirely until I either lamped to 10 slayer for a facemask or got 75 combat for Konar. I managed to lamp to 10 a week before the change happened, which I didn't know was a change they had been planning

People complained about a LITERAL GREEN SINGLE PIXEL.
I'm not surprised about anything involving RS and it's players

The shading on trees being broken feels like a downgrade to me really

I wonder if the Tile Accurate Lumbridge guy took his pics before or after the recent minor changes in Lumbridge like the roof height

Osrs is the most dedicated community ever. I havent played in years but it wouldnt be unnatural to hop back on at any point on any day of the week. Glad this was my childhood addiction, watching content creators is like endless nostalgia.
