The fist bum after every round sows great sportsmanship. Braxton knew he had it in the bag, but also commended his competitor and gave him props for giving up a good fight.

You've got to appreciate those bladesmiths that come into the show, they try their best to give us a great blade in a very short amount of time, so kudus to them!

This is, I think, the first time I have seen Doug not follow the same exact routine with the kill test. I don't know if it changed the out come, but slashing the boar from the belly side definitely seems more advantageous than slashing into the spine.

Oofta, that is a hard sword to make. It blows my mind the japanese did a water quench, those guys must have been masters.

I've learned a lot from this channel and started making my own blades.❤

When we hear the word "nagamaki(長巻き), " we, ordinary Japanese people, cannot imagine this weapon. However, if we are explained that this weapon is "nagamaki, " all Japanese people will understand. Because "nagamaki" means just "long handle" in Japanese. It’s very easy. 😎

"Let's see what happens to my blade if I smack it against something directly after taking it out of the oil and not tempering it"

"I wish I had an extra day to do this."

You would have _if you hadn't struck a freshly quenched blade against a tree branch!_ I don't know much about forging, but I know that the quenching process leaves a blade brittle, and it needs to be tempered to restore flexibility.

Great blades. Really close contest. I wonder how Jake's first blade would have worked if it didn't have the stress fracture.

It drives me INSANE when these supposed bladesmiths test an UNTEMPERED BLADE with impact. What else could possibly happen apart from it breaking?

I found Braxton's blade literally scary.

This weapon feels like a sword and Glaive hybrid

The blades were extremely deadly just as every blade at Forged in Fire

Man, this was so close, Braxton really won by the smallest cut! (terrible pun, I know...)

Do they consider the muscle wear and tear as well as fatigue of the wielder when swing testing the criteria for scoring.
