Etsy shops put too much dependence on Etsy who can cut you off instantly with no reason at all. It happened to me and I knew not making other avenue outside of Etsy is futile. Also download the customers the purchased your products while you still have access to it.

From what I can see on Etsy they're not doing a good job policeing the copyright and getting rid of it.
There's probably 250, 000 people that are doing it.

Dude, it's only a matter of time before all the Seiko branded Seiko MOD watches are taken off Etsy. I don't have the heart to report them but it also upsets me as a competitor. They're buying silver Seiko logo's from China to put on the dial when it's not a Seiko, just the movement and it's taking over the homage watch market.

I don't like the fact that Etsy forces me to use AWeber. I want to use substack for my email marketing since I'm planning on doing something beyond etsy and there's no integration with it.

Yep. This happens. I would like to see legislation brought to the floor. Technically, many people are Etsy 'employees' but have none of the protections. If I were to get back into printing I'd build another website with 10s of thousands of prints and use Google Merchant Center, who will also stop advertising without details as I disclosed in a big article on eCommerceBytes back than. It's ALWAYS the third party that will cause a problem.

AND, he further has no obligation to even answer your inquiries. AND, if he somehow reviews his past actions and discovers he was mistaken for locking you out, he has no liability to you any lost revenue or other damage to your business?

Well, that's exactly what you are getting yourself into when you open an Etsy store. I think this video is a great eye opener for current and potential Etsy sellers.

Personally, I would spread my brand over as many platforms as possible, (Redbubble, Amazon, eBay, etc) to protect my revenue.

Copyright violations are the biggest reason people get closed by Etsy. DO NOT do Disney, Marvel, living persons images or offensive words. Don't say "inspired by". Make your own designs; don't steal from other sellers or other websites. Find a niche and do the work. No such thing as "immediate money", grow up.

i would like to focus on one point in this video - Etsy can shut down any shop. and emailing to support will not change anything. that's a really weird thing about Etsy's customers support. why don't they try to help a seller if they did something wrong instead of permanently suspend their shop. who has an answer?

I wished you had shared a more realistic example by using a smaller business which is mostly what Etsy is made up of. Very few aligned with your example.
